Frequently Asked Questions
The Most Common Questions We Get From Our Clients
Will I turn orange? What is in your solution?
No, absolutely not! Our solution is made of the highest quality, natural ingredients. Our solution does NOT contain any beets or carrots, or any other ingredients which would cause your skin to turn an orange color.
We use only the highest quality all natural and organic ingredients, because we believe in putting our clients health first. Our formula is 100% vegan and PETA approved, cruelty free, paraben free, gluten free, anti-aging, and eco-certified. All of our technicians have also been extensively trained and certified!
How many days before an event should I spray tan?
You will want to tan 2-3 days before your event. For brides, I suggest a trial tan and then decided what day following your spray you like your tan best!
How do I prepare for my tan & what do I wear during my session?
Preparing your skin for the spray tan is very important to ensure a flawless outcome and long lasting tan! Please refer to our “prep and aftercare” for directions on how to prepare your skin for the tan.
How long will my spray tanning session take?
The entire process takes about 30-40 minutes, from start to finish.
What do I need to do after my spray tan?
Please rinse in 1-4 hours with water only. No soap or shampoo or lotion! You may shower fully at 18-24 hours.
What should I wear after my appointment?
We ask that you wear dark, loose clothing before you rinse off in the shower, because tight clothing could cause some of the spray to rub off of your skin, leaving streaks.
How long will my tan last?
Our Clients say their typical spray tan with us lasts 7-14 days with proper care and upkeep. It is important to follow the steps listed on our“prep and aftercare” to get the best quality tan possible.
Where do you set up?
We can set up anywhere in the home. Bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, etc. Our tent isn’t huge so we can make even fairly small spaces work!
What do I wear during my session?
As long as you feel comfortable, you are able to wear as little or as much as you’d like.
How long do I have to wait before I can shower?
Our Rapid Spray Tan will allow you to rinse off in the shower with water only at 1-4 hours Our Regular Solution is rinsed off in 8 hours. It is imperative that you rinse off the cosmetic bronzer in that time frame to ensure the DHA (active ingredient in your spray tan) is properly oxygenated and can develop correctly. Sleeping in the spray tan will not create a darker, longer-lasting tan – it will, in fact. do the opposite. You will be able to shower fully with soap and shampoo at 18-24 hours, depending on the depth of color you are wanting to achieve.
What types of payment do you accept & is gratuity included in the price of my spray tan?
We currently accept Cash, Zelle, & ApplePay. Gratuity is not included. Like any other service, gratuity is left completely to your discretion. If you were pleased with your service, standard gratuity is 18-20%.
I have a sunburn. Can I get a spray tan?
Absolutely not. Sun damage can linger underneath the skin for up to 6 weeks after an initial sunburn. DHA (dihydroxyacetone), the active ingredient in all spray tans and sunless products, is derived from sugar cane, which can be very drying to the skin. With a sunburn, no matter if it is brand new or even 6 weeks old, a spray tan can cause rapid exfoliation of skin cells, causing your skin to peel within a few days of your spray tan. This can be particularly detrimental to brides or anyone attending a formal event where shoulders, backs, and decolletage are exposed. We recommend not tanning over a new or recent sunburn to avoid peeling and spotting.
Will my spray tan protect me from the sun?
Absolutely not. Please continue to wear sunscreen. Sunscreens that contain alcohol will dry your skin and strip your tan. Getting burnt with a spray tan will cause your tan to peal and appear uneven. (We highly suggest using SUN BUM branded sunscreen!)
How often should I be getting a spray tan?
This is entirely up to you, your skin and your schedule! Majority of our clients come in every other week! A ton, come in once a week! And some for special occasions, events, vacations, and nights out!
When should I get my nails done?
Getting your nails done 1-3 days prior to your tan is ideal! When getting your nails done after, you run the risk of the nail tech scrubbing off your tan. If you are getting your nails done the same day as your tan, be sure to tell the technician to not apply lotion or exfoliate your skin!
PS: all other beauty regimens should be done 1-3 days before your tan (hair color, massages, facials, lashes, etc.)!
What soaps & lotions should I avoid?
It’s best to avoid any products that contain alcohol, mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, and fragrance. Simply put, it’s best to use all-natural products or products made for spray tans. We also carry all spray tan designed products!
*Please avoid the use of Dove soap!
What is the setting powder you use?
We use a spray tan-formulated quick-dry finishing powder at the end of your session to give you a more comfortable processing experience! It’s our clients’ absolute favorite!
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 24 hour cancellation or reschedule policy. The fee for a reschedule is 50% if made less than 24 hour prior to your appointment. The fee for cancellation within 24 hours of your appointment is 100%. Our schedules stay full with waiting lists, and when we have late cancellations or reschedules, it makes it harder to replace that time slot.
